The Visual Arts Center
The Visual Arts Center is a not-for-profit organization that opened its doors over 30 years ago. It brings together people interested in the visual arts. The Guild now boasts over 800 members, and with its many professional and extremely qualified instructors, promotes greater knowledge, skills and appreciation of the visual arts through classes, programs, workshops and exhibits for adults, high school students and children.
The building includes two galleries, a photography lab, office area, classrooms, gift shop and library. Abundant lighting, extended cathedral ceilings and over 225 feet of exhibition space make the Visual Arts Center an ideal location for year-round exhibits. Alive After Five
Alive After Five (formerly The Punta Gorda Gallery Walk) is a popular downtown happening held from 5-8 p.m. every third Thursday. Stroll at your own pace or hop on a trolley and cruise from stop to stop. Soak up the atmosphere in charming cafés and restaurants and explore unusual shops and boutiques. Browse the work of local artists and boogie down with lively street magicians.
