Punta Gorda Isles Civic Association

There are many social groups offered through the PGICA, below is a list of just a few of the groups. Organizations hosted by the PGICA cover a wide range of interests and offer a variety of activities to members at minimal cost. New groups are frequently added. Newcomers Club

Events and meeting topics are geared for new residents. Fellow Newcomers are all members of the PGICA for less than two years. This turn-over of membership helps create an easy atmosphere for meeting new people. Monthly meetings are held on the third Tuesday of each month at 7:00 PM.

PGI Floridians Club

The PGI Floridians is a social group comprised of former Newcomers members who want to continue to build friendships and learn about the community. Activities include pot luck dinners and luncheons, outings to local attractions, golf, book clubs, a variety of sports and games, educational events and community service.

Punta Gorda Cruising Club

This is a cruising club made up of members that want to cruise SW Florida and beyond. They do many cruises to different destinations, near and far. This is a great way to learn the waters and meet new friends. Membership to the PGICA is required to join the PGI Cruising Club.

PG Islanders Cruising Club

They sponsor cruises to meet the needs of all types of boaters, including power and sail for daytrips as well as overnight and extended length cruises to many choice boating areas. Requirements for joining: PGICA membership, boat ownership in Punta Gorda, attendance at a minimum of three monthly membership meetings, participation in at least two scheduled cruises and work on at least one club event, committee or board.

PGI Seafarers

The newest boating and cruising group offered by the PGICA, they have a high percentage of members who have lived in Punta Gorda for less than three years. This makes them the logical choice for newcomers who want to make new friends and meet other boaters. They offer one general meeting and two socials every month in addition to their events and cruises.

Visual Arts Center

The Visual Arts center is located in Punta Gorda across from Fishermen’s Village. It offers art classes and workshops to local residents. Discounted fees are available if you are also a member of the Charlotte County Art Guild. Visit their website for more information regarding classes and schedules.

Twin Isles Country Club

Charlotte County's premier, private country club is located in the heart of beautiful Burnt Store Isles. Categories of memberships include Golf, Tennis and Social. The golf course was renovated by a leading Florida golf architect in November 2000. Tennis is popular and competitive programs thrive at the Club.

Isles Yacht Club

The Isles Yacht Club is located in the center of Punta Gorda Isles, with quick access to Charlotte Harbor. The club offers a wide and varied social and boating activity calendar.
